How league play works
The league, end to end
The GPP League is the center of the product. Tournaments, rooms, results, and the community all support players who want to compete in the same game and let the result speak.
1 · Join the league
A phone number, a date of birth, and a photo of yourself, the whole list. The number is the only way in, one number to one account, and you must be 18 or over.
2 · Play your league competition
Singles or doubles, near you. GPP owns no tables and runs no rooms: you meet at a poolroom or a bar that is already there, at a time you both agree.
3 · Check each other in person
Each of you sees the other's profile photo and checks it against the person in front of you. That is the whole authentication story, and a human does all of it, GPP does not use automated photo analysis.
4 · Play a short race
Short on purpose. A race that fits inside an evening is a race people actually finish, and an unfinished match teaches the rating nothing.
5 · Both of you submit the result
Two submissions, one result. A match one player recorded alone is not a record, it is an assertion, and the rating is built from records.
6 · It counts
The result goes into your rating, and you can see exactly what it did to the number. Nobody local can reach in and change that afterwards.
What GPP asks of you, in full
- A mobile number, the only way to sign up, and one account per number.
- A date of birth, because membership is 18 and over.
- A photo of yourself, so the person across the table can tell it is you.
There is no home-address field in this app, on any screen, and there never will be, matches happen in poolrooms. GPP never asks where you live.
What GPP never does
- No background checks. GPP does not screen anybody and does not claim to.
- No face matching and no automated processing of your photo, ever. Humans compare photos; machines never.
- No video.
- No collusion flag, badge, asterisk or "under review" marker.
- No mandatory arbitration and no class-action waiver, you keep the right to sue us.
When something goes wrong
- If your two result entries do not match, the match does not count toward either rating.
- A safety report goes to a named person for review; it does not create a public flag on a profile.
- GPP does not hold, transfer, guarantee, or resolve money between players.
Your match history and account data are available from Settings, including an export and account deletion controls.
